Canvas#setBackground(int) なんだから
Canvas (のインスタンス) の背景色を設定するだけなのは当然じゃね？
勝手に Image の背景色が変わったら困るだろ

そもそも Graphics#setBackground(int) じゃないのが設計ミス。
