I mistake because I had bought a copy of RedHat 7.1J
before I could notice the version letter 'J' did not
actually mean a version proceeding to 'I'
but a Japanized version.

He doesn't mentioned about the font mis-alignment problem
but the problem with the locale itself.
Therefore, though the GAIJIN install the mona-font,
he will still see the Latin-BAKE-BAKE characters
like German umlaut, French accent, (c)mark, small 1/2, 3/4, etc.

I see you recommend Vine which would be a kind of RedHat distribution.
I'm afraid Vine's installer has actually locale select menu at the
beginning of the install. I hear Vine's Japanization is nice, but
I wonder its plain English environment is also. I need no Japanization.
