threadを使ってみようと思ったんですが、

#!/usr/bin/env python
import thread
def threadA():
for i in range(100):
print "threadA()"
def threadB():
for i in range(100):
print "threadA()"
def main():
thread.start_new_thread(threadA, ())
thread.start_new_thread(threadB, ())
if __name__=="__main__":
main()

を走らせると、

Error in sys.excepthook:

となってしまいます。
Linux/OS X（python 2.5）ともに同じ症状です。
どこが使い方間違っているんでしょうか。
