Ａｊａｘでサーブレットから受信する時の文字化けが直らず困っていたのですが、
試しにgetCharacterEncodingしてみると、set〜が機能していないらしいことに気付きました。

＜サーブレットのコード＞
response.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");
System.out.println("getCharacterEncoding:" + response.getCharacterEncoding());
response.setContentType("text/html;charset=UTF-8");
System.out.println("getContentType:" + response.getContentType());

＜結果＞
getCharacterEncoding:ISO-8859-1
getContentType:text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1

この現象の原因について何か分かる方いらっしゃったら教えて下さい。
