"[S [NP John] [VP [V hits] [NP Mary]]]" のような文字列を
["S", ["NP", "John"], ["VP", ["V", "hits"], ["NP", "Mary"]]]
のような配列に変換したいのですが、エレガントな方法はあるでしょうか？

とりあえず、こんな感じでやってみたんですが、なんかきもいような気がするので・・・
