ちょいとyaccとlexの事で質問です。

を参考にいろいろといじっていたのですが、
extern YYSTYPE yylval;
という一行をサイトにあるとおりlex.lファイルの一番先頭、
include集団の直ぐ後ろに書いたんですが、そうするとgccがエラーを吐きます。

error: parse error before "yylval"
warning: data definition has no type or storage class

だそうです。
どんな感じでしょうか？
