こういうメソッドを作りました。

//２文字以上のセパレータに対応したSplit
static public StringCollection SplitEx(String Src,String Sep)

StringCollection dat = new StringCollection();

Src += Sep;

dat.Add(Src.Substring(0,Src.IndexOf(Sep)));
Src = Src.Remove(0,Src.IndexOf(Sep) + Sep.Length);
}
while(Src.Length != 0);

return dat;
}

そこに、
Src = "1021649890.dat<>゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜ (31)";
Sep = "<>";
と言う値を与えても文字列が分割されません。
（dat[0] == "1021649890.dat<>゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜。゜ (31)<>"）
他の文字列ではうまくいくのですが。
問題点があれば指摘して下さい。
なお、問題はラウンジのスレッド名です。
