はダメで
select * from hoge where cast(hogedate as date) = cast('2002/04/10' as date)
もダメです

select cast(hogedate as date) from hoge
をしてみると結局タイムスタンプ型で帰ってきちゃうんですよ
使用しているのはIB6ですが
