TListBoxとTCheckListBoxなのですが、
ListBox.Items[0] := 'A'; は大丈夫で
CheckListBox.Items[0] := 'A';だとエラーがでるのは仕様なのでしょうか?

なんか納得がいかない・・・。(del4,del6で確認しました)
