“Japan-Taiwan War” is merely a coinage that a few professors used. However, NHK used it as if it were one of the important historical term.
2. Mandarin Chinese was spoken in Taiwan at the time under sovereignty of Japan???
It is absolutely a haphazard, failed remark. At the time under Japanese sovereignty, Taiwanese, Taiwan native tongues and Japanese were spoken in Taiwan.
It was after the Second World War that Taiwanese began to use Mandarin Chinese, under the dictatorship by Chian Kai-shek.
3. NHK intentionally and incorrectly edited the interview with elderly Taiwanese people.
The elderly people, educated in Japanese at the time under Japanese sovereignty, made strict remarks onto Japanese “pro-Chinese attitude after the Second World War.”
However, NHK edited the interview incorrectly as if those elderly Taiwanese had felt hatred against Japan and Japanese sovereignty.
