Kalb?Ramond field
In theoretical physics in general and string theory in particular, the Kalb?Ramond field, also known as the NS-NS B-field, is a quantum field that transforms as a two-form i.e. an antisymmetric tensor field with two indices.[1][2]

The fermions ψμ± on the world-sheet of the closed string can be periodic (Ramond) or anti-periodic (Neveu?Schwarz),
where the periodicity condition can be chosen independently for each chirality.
This leads to four different sectors of the closed string theory.3
Excitations in the (NS,NS) and the (R,R) sectors are space-time bosons while excitations in the two mixed sectors, (R,NS) and (NS,R), are space-time fermions.
