Introduction to Homological Mirror Symmetry (following Kontsevich)

Abstract:
I shall set up the basic apparatus for understanding the proposal
of Kontesvich's ICM (1994) talk. In this context, we shall see how
D-branes (discovered much later) nicely fit in the general scheme
and are the essential objects needed to implement the Mirror
transformations. The main aim is to motivate the proposal that
the "Category of (topological) B-type D-branes on X is best
described using the (bounded) Derived Category of Coherent Sheaves
on X"
