UNIX板で質問したらLinux板に誘導されたので質問させてください。

学校のCentOSにgcc-4.3.2を入れようとしているのですが、
さしあたってmpfrをmakeしようとしたら、./configureを実行すると即座に

checking whether build environment is sane... configure: error: newly created file is older than distributed files!

と怒られてしまいます。dateで出力した日付は合っているにもかかわらず。

これはどう対処すればよさそうでしょうか?
