すみません、教えて下さい。
アプリをtar_zxvf_xxxx.tar.gzで/rootに解凍し、以下の手順で行いました。
# ./configure
# make
# make install

結果は↓のようになりました。

# ./configure
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

# make
option:
install [install]
update [update the installation]
　　　・
　　　・
　　　・
tidy [remove stray files]

# make install
make: ***[install]Error 1

何が原因でインストールがうまく行かないのでしょうか？
ご指導お願いします。
