Giulietta Simionato passed away earlier today at the age of 99 in her Roman home.

The legendary mezzo would have turned 100 exactly one week from now.
We bid farewell to an artist whose career began in 1927 and ended in 1966,
who was Santuzza with Mascagni as conductor,
who was Callas's friend (this is their famous Anna Bolena duet, audio only)
