Well, I like Matthews Passion too, but it is too long.
So, I have never listened it in entirety.
Karl Richiter's performance is nice, but it seems little nervous to me.
Recently released Sergiu Celibidache and Munchiner is calm and
comfortable. I like Celibidache's better.

By the way, please tell me Italian opera composers who you think to
compare with Bach.
