RCA's Living Stereo release of "Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 78" (1959)
performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra directed by Charles Munch.
I realize that this album has been remastered and released on CD on a few occasions, but
the results are quite disappointing for one reason: The master tape has all but disintegrated.
The new releases are much darker and noisier, and one can clearly hear places of oxidation and
places where the tape has been eaten. I have a old cd from Victor Japan, but find no problem
as those.
